Choosing care
Look beyond the brochure.
A care home should be able to explain clearly who it can safely support, how care is assessed and what day-to-day life is actually like.
Visit in person where possible and notice how staff speak with residents, how settled the home feels and whether answers are straightforward.

- What type of care is the home registered to provide?
- Who is the registered manager and how visible are they?
- What is included in the weekly fee?
- How are families kept informed?
- What happens if care needs increase?
